4. It’s a Wonderful Life – Tyneside Cinema

Maybe you’re looking for something a bit warmer, inside but equally as Christmassy. The iconic Tyneside Cinema is running special showings of the classic Christmas film “It’s a Wonderful Life” throughout the festive period.

For those who don’t know, It’s a Wonderful Life is the story of George Bailey, a compassionate but frustrated everyman whose life seems to be coming apart. But when Clarence, an angel with one chance to prove his mettle, arrives on earth he teaches George just how much life is worth living.

It’s a moving yet funny film and if you haven’t seen it before, or would love to see it again we can’t recommend enough heading down to the Tyneside Cinema this Christmas.

There are also special showings on Fri 21, Sat 22 & Sun 23 Dec 20:00 and Christmas Eve at 16:30, which have a choir performing Christmas carols beforehand, and you can also get Mince Pies and Mulled Wine to top off the whole experience.

Tickets are on sale now from the Tyneside Cinema website and cost from £11 – £35.

There are also showings of another Christmas favourite, Die Hard on the 14th, 17th and 20th of December.

5. Escape Games – EXIT Newcastle

Those looking to add a unique and adrenaline-filled twist to this Christmas look no further than EXIT Newcastle’s escape games. The premise is simple, you and your team will be locked inside a room for one hour. The only way to escape if to work together to solve puzzles, clues, and riddles to EXIT before it is too late!

In the den of Newcastle’s very own serial killer, time is of the essence as the knowledge that the killer could return at any time looms over all who are brave enough to find themselves inside of his home. Aged 16 and over, the theme may be unsettling and disturbing.

After his plot was foiled last year, Cheeky Charlie the Naughty Elf has returned once more to try and ruin Christmas!
